How to care for your NORA

Honestly? Very little care needed. Our pieces are built for the way you actually live — showers, workouts, oceans, sleep. But here's how to keep them looking new for as long as possible.

The basics

Wear it daily. Jewelry that sits in a box doesn't develop its character.
Rinse with lukewarm water after heavy sweat, chlorine, or saltwater exposure.
Dry with a soft cloth. A microfiber cloth, a clean cotton t-shirt — anything non-abrasive.
Store in the pouch when not worn, to prevent scratches from contact with harder surfaces.

What to avoid

Harsh chemicals — chlorine concentrate, bleach, acetone, hair dye. Brief pool exposure is fine; soaking in pool chemicals is not.
Direct perfume contact. Spray perfume and let it dry before putting jewelry on. Perfume that lands directly on the metal can dull the finish over time.
Heavy impact. The PVD coating is durable, but a hard knock against tile or stone can still scratch it (same as solid gold).
Sleeping with chains entangled. Keep necklaces flat or hung up overnight to prevent kinks.

Cleaning your jewelry

For routine cleaning:

Mix a few drops of mild dish soap with lukewarm water
Gently swirl the piece for 30 seconds
Rinse under fresh water
Pat dry with a soft cloth
Optional: buff lightly with a jewelry polishing cloth to restore shine

Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, abrasive scrubs, or strong solvents — they can damage the bonded coating.

Storage

Each piece comes in a pouch. Use it. Storing pieces separately prevents them from scratching each other. If you're traveling, the pouches also keep chains from tangling in your bag.

What happens if the finish changes

If your piece ever fades, tarnishes, or changes color under normal wear — that's our problem, not yours. Email us at info@shopnoragem.com or WhatsApp +31 6 13513980 with a photo and we'll replace it free. That's the lifetime warranty.

For sensitive skin

If you've previously reacted to fashion jewelry, our pieces are designed to be safe for daily wear (surgical-grade stainless steel base, hypoallergenic). If you do have an unusual reaction, stop wearing it and email us — we'll replace or refund.
