This isn't a long brand-story essay. We'll keep it real.
NORA started in Amsterdam because we were tired of the same thing every jewelry shopper deals with: cheap stuff tarnishes within months, mid-tier stuff is overpriced for what you get, and the truly fine stuff costs more than most people are willing to spend on something they'll wear every day.
So we asked a simple question: what if we built jewelry around the way people actually wear it — in showers, gyms, oceans, and at desks — instead of designing it for occasions and then telling customers to be careful?
The answer was: change the material
Most fashion jewelry uses brass or copper bases. Those tarnish, react with skin, and ruin the finish over time. We built NORA around surgical-grade stainless steel — the same material used in medical implants. Hypoallergenic. Won't rust. Won't react.
Then we bonded the gold or rhodium finish using PVD coating — the same process that gives high-end watches their lasting color. It's expensive to do at our price point, but it means the pieces actually last.
The lifetime warranty isn't a marketing line
It's there because we know our pieces hold up. If yours ever doesn't — fades, tarnishes, changes color — we replace it free. No fine print. No expiration. No "where's your receipt." Just message us at info@shopnoragem.com or WhatsApp +31 6 13513980 and we'll send a new one out.
Designed in Amsterdam, made for everywhere
We're a small team. The pieces are designed in-house. The team has people who've spent years in fine jewelry and people who've spent years buying fashion jewelry and being disappointed.
Today NORA ships to customers in 40+ countries. Most of them have written us nice notes. Some of them have written that the jewelry literally hasn't come off — through births, hospital stays, marathons, breakups, weddings. That's the kind of jewelry we wanted to make.
